Let OpenTable’s Date Night Matchmaker decide.

Too many options got you overthinking your restaurant decision? Use OpenTable’s Date Night Matchmaker tool to narrow your options based on your preferences and serve up suggestions so you can easily discover your restaurant match in just a few taps.

Filter to find the best date night restaurants.

After you do an initial search on OpenTable, you can also filter search results using filters that are both fun and practical. Look for restaurants that have been picked as “Good for a Date” or “Romantic” in verified OpenTable diner reviews. Have a more specific request? You can search for filters like a waterfront view, live music, or TVs so you can watch the big game together. And if you’re both pasta lovers, use our cuisine filters to find a top-rated Italian eatery.

Keep it low key and book the bar.

We totally get it. Sometimes you don’t want to go all-in on the full table dining experience, especially on a first date. You can keep things casual with a bite at the bar. Use our “Book the Bar” filter to secure a couple of stools or filter by “Bar Seating” so you know you can grab a cocktail before or after your date.

Let the restaurant know it’s a date.

When you’re completing your booking, on the occasion dropdown, indicate that it’s a date. Use the “Notes” section to let restaurant staffers know it’s a first date or a special night out with your partner. You can also add in special requests, maybe your date has specific dietary requirements, or you know they prefer to cozy up in a booth. Communicate your needs to the restaurant team ahead of time so they can provide you with top-notch service. However, it’s important to keep in mind that some restaurants may not be able to honor all requests.

Invite your guest.

Once you’ve locked in your reservation, use our invite a guest feature on the confirmation page to be sure your date knows when and where you’ll be dining that night. They can even add it to their calendar improving the odds that they won’t get lost or inadvertently stand you up.
