With more than 48,000 restaurants, OpenTable has the right restaurant for whatever you’re celebrating — and that includes International Women’s Day. In honor of the occasion, we’ve teamed up with the James Beard Foundation to showcase some of the world’s best restaurants on OpenTable with women at the helm in cities across the U.S. and Canada as well as Australia and Germany, along with London and Mexico City.
Some are James Beard Award-winners, nominees, and semifinalists, while others are trailblazing entrepreneurs whose reputations precede them. From Daniela Soto-Innes of Cosme in New York, a World’s 50 Best Restaurants honoree, and two-time James Beard Award-winner and Iron Chef champion Traci Des Jardins of Jardiniere in San Francisco to chef Nada Abou Younes of Ille Flottante (formerly Les Deux Singes de Montarvie) in Montreal and London’s Clare Symth of CORE by Clare Smyth, who holds the award for World’s Best Female Chef, all around the world, women-led restaurants are doing great things.
Although March 8th is the official day to celebrate women, with so many phenomenal restaurants in the mix, we encourage you to look through our lists and check them out any time you find yourself nearby. Whether you live in one of the cities below or are planning a trip soon, here are the top restaurants run by women:
