Starting at 2:00PM, kids can join their parents in toasting to each country’s New Year’s celebration with sparkling grape juice toast. Cocktail specials will be offered for adults as well and themed after different countries for each hour including Moscow Mules, Jameson drinks, house wines, and craft beers. SafeHouse’s food menu includes favorite bites like the C4 cheese curds, the Cuban missile crisis sandwich, and the double spy burger. Kids will find a suspiciously delicious Junior Spy meal just for them — with each coming with a box of spy gadgets and puzzles for the table. Make a reservation at SafeHouse.

Restaurants for a Kid-Friendly New Year’s Eve 2018

Plume at The Jefferson, Washington, D.C.
Michelin-starred restaurant Plume at The Jefferson keeps dinner fun for kids by offering a special menu and a non-alcoholic beverage cart with juices ($10 each) that can be paired with each menu item (prices ranging from $8-$16). When the cocktail cart is rolled out for adults at the table, kids can order from the non-alcoholic cart (pictured below), which includes offerings such as a crudité paired with the Cuvee No. 25 – a lightly sparkling juice with organic sloe plums, aronia berries, pears, and currants. A fine dining restaurant can be intimidating for kids in a room full of dressed-up adults, and the beverage cart and pairings help the kids feel respected and also breaks the ice. For the parents and grandparents, a tasting menu priced at $120 involves tasting the largest Madeira wine collection in the country and delectable dishes such as the truffle arborio risotto and king salmon marinated in a bento box of Amish beeswax.
