Happenings on and around OpenTable this week…

* Christmas and New Year’s Eve reservations are open! Check your metro start page for details on where to dine over the holidays!

* Winter Restaurant Weeks are starting up in the new year! Stay tuned for announcements on cities and dates!

* The OpenTable staff aren’t just a bunch of avid foodies. Well, actually, we are. But, to burn calories and support our local community, OpenTable participated in the JPMorgan Chase & Co. Corporate Challenge 3.5 mile run. Runners included Ahna Guedmin, John Orta, Annie Happel, Josh Garnier, Chris Jocson, Keyvan Rahmatian, Cody Rose, Kim Bednarik, Deborah Patterson, Krissy Nevero, Elaine Teoh, Michelle Nguyen, Erica Lawler, Morgan Parker, Evan Sutton, Nick Alvarez, Galen Guilbert, Omari Robinson, Govind Rajagopalan, Omid Kamali, Jeremy Barry, Scott Jampol, Johanna Kenrick, and Tori Tsu. Their efforts help raise money for not-for-profit organizations. No word on who had the fastest time, but I have my suspicions.

* November was Movember! a month-long, moustache-growing fundraiser to raise awareness and money in the fight against prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. Our colleagues in the U.K. at the OpenTable/TopTable offices seized on this challenge, with 19 men tossing their razors aside for 30 days. To avoid having to sit through an HR seminar, I’ll just say that I think every month should be Movember. Meow! Anyway, their efforts raised more than £3,000! You can see the impressive array of facial hair in this cool Flickr slideshow below. And, even though November has come and gone, it’s not too late to donate! Click here to learn more.
