As you may have heard, iconic restaurant JJ’s in Kansas City, Missouri, was completely destroyed by a devastating fire on February 19th. The fire also claimed the life of JJ’s employee Megan Cramer. One of the oldest independently operated restaurants in Kansas City, JJ’s is esteemed by both diners and fellow members of the Kansas City restaurant community.
Please join JJ’s owners, staff, patrons, and friends in support of the JJ’s employees impacted by this tragedy at a fundraiser on Tuesday, March 5th at 7PM at the Uptown Theater. Hosted by former Chiefs player Eddie Kennison and KCTV5’s Kelly Jones, the event features food and drink from area restaurants, live music on multiple stages, and a silent auction with a number of items from local Kansas City merchants.
Featuring The Latenight Callers and David George and A Crooked Mile, the Friends of JJ’s Benefit will also include performances by The Grisly Hand, Patrick Krief (of The Dears), Megan Birdsall, Victor & Penny, Loaded Goat, Allied Saints, Shellac Attack, and DJ Rico. Proceeds will benefit the immediate needs of JJ’s staff and employees impacted by the Plaza fire, as well as a fund in honor of Megan Cramer.
Tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster and are available at several price points. If you’re unable to attend, you may make a donation to the J.J.’s Staff Assistance Fund at any Country Club Bank branch.Continue Reading
