Spotlight on a Spotlight Winner: Congratulations, Rebecca Stalnaker!

Rebecca Stalnaker, who walks past Washington D.C. Spotlight restaurant LIMA on her way to work every day (and not in a pre-caffeinated stupor like the rest of us, apparently), won a Spotlight certificate recently for her correct guess at our D.C. Secret Spotlight. She’s taking home $50 of food and drink at LIMA in downtown D.C. Rebecca dished to OpenTable about her fave restos and floats an offer to her friends as to whom she may share the Spotlight with!

OT: What is the name of your hometown?

RS: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This tends to be a sore subject for me, though. There are too many “yinzers” that ruin the city’s reputation. See

OT: What is your favorite food?

RS: I adore simple, freshly prepared French fare (seared scallops and duck at Bistro Cacoa) as well as Asian Fusian cuisine (Zengo has a creative, tasty menu). A good medium-rare filet mignon never dissapoints, either (Charlie Palmer). I adore German Reislings (Proof is the place for wine).

OT: Can you name some of your favorite restaurants?

RS: Bistro Cacoa701, Blue Duck Tavern, Taberna del Alabardero, and Daily Grill, Downtown. My husband and I also like Chart House in Alexandria.

OT: Who are you taking to dinner with your free Spotlight certificate?

RS: If my husband cannot join me, I’ll take the first friend who contacts me upon reading the OpenTable blog! Ready? Set? Go!

OT: Do you hear that FORs (Friends of Rebecca)? Hit her up now!

Congrats again, Rebecca! Diners, remember to make your guesses and you could be one of our lucky winners in the weeks to come!
