Show Your Support: Attend Saber! A Celebration of JJ’s on 4/7 in Kansas City!

Join the Kansas City dining community as they rally around the JJ’s restaurant family.

You’re cordially invited to Saber! A Celebration of JJ’s in Kansas City on Sunday, April 7th, at The American Restaurant. From 5PM-8PM, The American Restaurant will host Kansas City’s finest chefs and beverage vendors in support of the JJ’s Family. One of the oldest independently operated restaurants in Kansas City, JJ’s was completely destroyed by a devastating fire on February 19th. The fire also claimed the life of  JJ’s employee Megan Cramer.

You can show your support by purchasing tickets to Saber! The event will feature tasting stations, a silent auction, and a “Hall of Fame” wine silent auction showcasing bottles three liters or larger. The bottles will be signed by JJ’s owner Jimmy Frantze.

In addition to The American Restaurant, participating restaurants and chefs include Craig Adcock (Jude’s Rum Cake), bluestem/ryeCafé Sebastienne, Coaches, Happy Gillis, Jasper’s, Lon Lane’s Inspired Occasions, The Rieger Hotel, Grill & Exchange, and Starker’s Restaurant, among others.

Show Your Support for the Friends of JJ’s Benefit on March 5, 2013 in Kansas City!

Don’t miss your chance to step up — and out — for the workers impacted by the deadly fire at Kansas City landmark JJ’s Restaurant.

As you may have heard, iconic restaurant JJ’s in Kansas City, Missouri, was completely destroyed by a devastating fire on February 19th. The fire also claimed the life of  JJ’s employee Megan Cramer. One of the oldest independently operated restaurants in Kansas City, JJ’s is esteemed by both diners and fellow members of the Kansas City restaurant community.

Please join JJ’s owners, staff, patrons, and friends in support of the JJ’s employees impacted by this tragedy at a fundraiser on Tuesday, March 5th at 7PM at the Uptown Theater. Hosted by former Chiefs player Eddie Kennison and KCTV5’s Kelly Jones, the event features food and drink from area restaurants, live music on multiple stages, and a silent auction with a number of items from local Kansas City merchants.

Featuring The Latenight Callers and David George and A Crooked Mile, the Friends of JJ’s Benefit will also include performances by The Grisly Hand, Patrick Krief (of The Dears), Megan Birdsall, Victor & Penny, Loaded Goat, Allied Saints, Shellac Attack, and DJ Rico. Proceeds will benefit the immediate needs of JJ’s staff and employees impacted by the Plaza fire, as well as a fund in honor of Megan Cramer.
