These awards reflect the combined opinions of more than 5 million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 15,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

With gifted chefs and inventive menus, the list of winners spans 26 states and includes Beast in Portland, Oregon, Moto in Chicago, and Vedge in Philadelphia. California accounts for 20 honorees, followed by Pennsylvania with 10 winners and Illinois with nine. Oregon and Washington restaurants each boast seven standouts apiece. Arizona, New York, and Texas all claim five winners. Colorado and Maine earned four spots, while both Minnesota and North Carolina have three. Delaware, Florida, Massachusetts, and Missouri each have two winning restaurants. Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, and Virginia restaurants are also represented. Restaurants serving American fare, including Californian, Northwest, and Southern, proved most popular; other notable cuisines on the list include French, Italian, Japanese, and vegetarian.

In celebration of the nation’s growing cocktail culture, we are pleased to announce the 2013 Diners’ Choice Award winners for the Top 100 Hottest Restaurant Bars in the United States. These awards reflect the combined opinions of more than 5 million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 15,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Winners, which include Bathtub Gin in New York City, and Searsucker in San Diego, and Untitled in Chicago, are located in 23 states and the nation’s capital. California restaurants make a strong showing with 27 honorees. Florida follows with 14 top restaurant bars, trailed by Massachusetts and New York, with 10 and nine winners, respectively. New Jersey and Texas restaurants each claim five spots on the list, and Pennsylvania restaurant bars have earned four spots. Maryland, Nevada, and South Carolina each boast three winners. Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin are also represented. Establishments serving American fare account for the majority of winners; Asian, Italian, and Mexican cuisines have a presence as well.

OpenTable Diner Reviews Reveal the Top 100 Outdoor Dining Spots in the U.S.

As we look forward to warm summer days and balmy nights, we are pleased to announce the 2013 Diners’ Choice Award winners for the Top 100 Outdoor Dining Restaurants in the United States. These awards reflect the combined opinions of more than 5 million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 15,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Winning restaurants, which include Geoffrey’s Restaurant in Malibu, California, Latitudes in Key West, Florida, and Plumeria Beach House in Kahala, Hawaii, are located in 15 states and the nation’s capital. California restaurants swept close to half the spots on the list with 42 winning restaurants. The island state of Hawaii followed with 20 top outdoor dining restaurants, and Florida was not far behind with 16 honorees. Arizona restaurants claimed five spots on the list and New York took three spots. Missouri, Rhode Island, and Texas each have two winners. Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. are also represented.

American fare was extremely popular, as were seafood and regional cuisines, including Hawaiian and Californian.

Top 25 Mom-friendly Dining Cities in the U.S.

[singlepic id=95 w=400 h=600 float=left]In celebration of Mother’s Day, we are pleased to release our rankings of the Top 25 Mom-friendly Dining Cities in the U.S. This list represents the best cities for moms who are also fun-seeking foodies.

The results are spread across 16 states and point to the places where it’s terrific to be both a mom and a foodie. Florida, California, and Texas cities are well represented, as is North Carolina, which boasts wins for Charlotte and Raleigh.

In order to provide this ranking, the OpenTable Mom-friendly Dining Index was calculated using four variables based on OpenTable reservation and diner reviews data from 2012: the percentage of people who dined out for Mother’s Day; the percentage of restaurants rated “kid-friendly;” the percentage of restaurants rated “romantic;” and the percentage of restaurants rated “hot spots.”
