Android Upgrade: Review Restaurants from Your Phone

On the heels of rolling out Pay with OpenTable for Android, we’re pleased to introduce mobile reviews for Android. OpenTable diners with an Android can now write restaurant reviews in real time right from their phones. The days of trying to remember whether you ordered a pasta carbonara or pasta puttanesca the night or the week before are over! You no longer have to wait until you get back in front of a computer to share your experiences — you can start writing your review as soon as you’re done dining.

To begin crafting reviews on your Android, be sure you’re running the latest version of the OpenTable app. Then, launch the app, and select ‘Profile’ in the upper left corner of the screen. Scroll down to view ‘Past Reservations’ and click on ‘Write A Review’ – and start sharing your thoughts with the restaurant and your fellow diners.

Pay with OpenTable Arrives on Android

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of our Pay with OpenTable feature for Android. We’ve already seen how diners have benefited from our mobile payments functionality by using their iOS devices, and now we’re thrilled to offer a way for Android users to pay without the wait.

Our team has been working hard to make this new Android feature an intuitive and frictionless experience. To pay with OpenTable, diners simply book a table at a participating restaurant and add a credit card in their OpenTable Android app before they dine. Then they can view and pay their check with a few taps. There’s no separate app to download; no codes to enter; and no scanning or barcodes involved. Diners who pay with OpenTable simply get up and go whenever they’re ready. It’s that simple!

Ride There with Uber in the OpenTable App

Need a ride to your reservation? No problem! We’re pleased to announce our new Ride there with Uber feature. Starting today, you will be able to view availability and estimated pricing of Uber vehicles near your home or a restaurant, and tap to request a ride to your destination via Uber — all within the OpenTable app.

The Ride there with Uber feature displays on your upcoming reservation and confirmation screens for bookings made within three hours of a reservation time, as well as at the end of your meal when paying your check using the OpenTable iPhone app. And, to make your life even easier, the OpenTable app will automatically tell your driver where to go, so you can focus on more important things like what to eat when you get there!

Ride there with Uber is currently available in the OpenTable app for both iOS and Android devices in cities that Uber serves across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the U.K., Germany, and Japan.

At OpenTable, powering great dining experiences is our mission; getting you to them is Uber’s. We hope you’ll appreciate the convenience of our latest — and quite literally — mobile feature.
