OMG! It’s Valentine’s Day! To celebrate, here’s another Romantic Dining Stories Giveaway winner who has been dining out with her husband for 50+ happy years.
Name: Patricia H.
Romantic Dining Partner: David H.
Married: February 22, 1958.
Hometown: Coppell, Texas.
Half a century of surprises: “My husband of almost 56 years, has surprised me so many times it would be difficult to pick just one. When we were first married, he would fly me from Selma, Alabama, to Montgomery for dinner with friends.”
What do you enjoy most about dining out with your husband? “We have always enjoyed eating out. When we were dating, we would pool our money to dine out. Now, it tastes better when I don’t have to cook it. That has just happened. I remember my mom saying she didn’t like what she cooked as she got older.”
Do you have a favorite restaurant? “We don’t really have a favorite restaurant, but when we find a restaurant we like, we usually go as often as we can afford and use the same server. This has been going on since we lived in San Antonio in the 1960’s. People get to know us, and we don’t even have to order. Right now Mac’s Steak and Seafood in Colleyville is our favorite. I even meet my friends there when we have a girl’s lunch.
What dishes do you like most? At Mac’s, I like the chicken fried steak. My husband likes the gumbo. And, w e both enjoy sharing Key lime pie. Our daughter-in-law even made one for his birthday last year, squeezing 60 Key limes to make it. It was delicious!
