We’re pleased to support the 14th annual St. Jude Gourmet Gala: Mardi Gras for the Kids! on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Held at the National Building Museum, your ticket purchase supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and its treatment of children suffering from catastrophic and life–threatening diseases, while you enjoy an exclusive opportunity to taste some of the D.C. area’s finest restaurant cuisine while mingling with more than 750 business, financial and political leaders.
Not your father’s stale fundraiser dinner, the St. Jude Gourmet Gala is a must-attend event for foodies. Guests will dine on savory and sweet dishes from the top 40 chefs in the D.C. metro area and sip creative and cutting-edge cocktails from high-profile mixologists in the capital area.
Now in its fourteenth year, the St. Jude Gourmet Gala has become a veritable who’s who in the D.C. food scene. Up from 20 chefs when it was first held, this year’s gala counts 40 participating chefs, including Michel Richard from Citronelle, to Nora Pouillon from Restaurant Nora, to Eric Ziebold from CityZen, Scott Drewno from The Source, and Geoff Tracy of Chef Geoff’s Downtown.
In addition to serving diners, all the chefs are in contention for the competitive ‘Tasters’ Choice’ award. Chef Geoff says, “It’s an honor to share our talents at an event that will help St. Jude find answers to save the lives of countless children. On a lighter note, the gala presents the perfect setting for collaboration among some of the industry’s best and a friendly competition to produce the perfect dish.”
The timing of the event is very special this year, as this year marks the 50th anniversary for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and today the U.S. Post Office has released a commemorative stamp in honor of founder Danny Thomas’s 100 birthday.
Purchase your tickets now to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and to enjoy an evening of culinary excellence from Washington, D.C.’s top chefs!
