Dining Poll: How Often Do You Buy a Bottle of Wine at a Restaurant?

When I was a kid, my parents rarely ordered a bottle of wine when we dined out at a restaurant. Maybe that was because there were only two adults to drink a bottle — not that that’s ever stopped me. I think, really, though it was that ordering a whole bottle of wine, at the time, was something reserved for special occasions or celebrities (If they saw a favorite actor at a restaurant, instead of asking for an autograph, they would send over a bottle of wine, which I think is really charming). Now, ordering a bottle of wine — or two — has become, for many people, an integral part of the dining experience. Let us know what your habits are in today’s poll!

On special occasions I will get a bottle of wine, but otherwise, it is very rare.

As a diabetic, one glass of wine is enough, so if a restaurant has half bottles, that’s great. If not, we don’t buy.
