I usually look at restaurant menus before I make a reservation — if only so I can start dreaming about what I’ll order when I get there. How about you? Weigh in on today’s dining poll!

For people with dietary restrictions – for example, vegetarians like myself – looking at a restaurant’s menu online in advance is a necessity. Otherwise, you may end up at a restaurant that serves nothing that you can eat. I’ve learned that one the hard way.
If I didn’t look at the menu ahead of time, it’d take me 20 minutes to study it at the table – and that’s quite rude when I’m out with friends – they get tired of waiting for me. I like to “try everything on for size” as I read the descriptions written for each dish, and if I swoon or my mouth waters, I put that item on the “maybe” list. Then after I’ve read the whole thing, I go back and re-evaluate all of my “maybes” and make my selection.
Note to restaurants: if any dish lists GARLIC as a main ingredient, it is instantly taken off of my list. Garlic is waaaaay over-used, esp. by chefs with no imagination!
