Dining Poll: What’s Your Take on When You Can Take a Seat?

When you show up at a restaurant before the rest of your dining companions, you’ll often be asked if you’d like to be seated at your table. Just as often, though, you may not be given that option, as many restaurants prefer not to seat a table until everyone is present. I don’t disagree with this policy, but I imagine some of you may. I think to be fare it should depend on 2 main criteria: the number who in you party who are there waiting to be seated and how busy the establishment is. And maybe also the timing, are you there on time and waiting for others or are you there before your reservation. I’ve been to one nice place in Atlanta where we the manager offered us all a glass of wine on the house for waiting for others in our party, that was a nice perk and good management style!
