Mothers Day 2011 Dining Out Is In on Mothers Day, According to New Survey of OpenTable Diners
Doesn't mom deserve a great meal on Mother's Day?

Forget the folklore, folks! Dining out on Mother’s Day beats breakfast in bed, according to moms. Eighty-two percent of survey respondents plan to celebrate in a restaurant, and 67 percent of those who are moms said they prefer dining out to breakfast in bed.

In terms of dining companions, a quarter of respondents said they’d rather leave their mother-in-law at home on May 8th! The most coveted Mother’s Day co-celebrant is First Lady Michelle Obama. Comedy queen Tina Fey took second place.

Respondents indicated that they love brunch because of the food and the early hour at which they can celebrate, but the third most popular reason that brunch is so, well, popular? It’s the one time it’s perfectly acceptable to have a cocktail with breakfast.

Have you made your Mother’s Day reservations? There’s still time to score a great table. And, remember to think beyond the brunch: More than 25% of moms indicated they’d like to dine out for dinner!
