OpenTable Introduces New Metro Home Page with Improved Features

So, it’s the ‘new’ Friday (otherwise known as Thursday) and you have dinner plans with a friend —  but no idea where to dine. Naturally, we do — and now you will, too, thanks to OpenTable’s new metro home page, which launches in all metro areas tomorrow morning. Front and center, you’ll find available tables for two at some of your city’s most popular and highest-rated restaurants. Just click on a time, and you’re on your way! Known as ‘Tables for Two Tonight,’ it is one of several new concepts that we’ve introduced as part of a facelift to our metro homepage.

In response to feedback from OpenTable diners who have asked for a more dynamic interface, here are a few of the other features we’ve made easier for you to access:

* Open tables tonight in 1 click

* Hot deals and offers

* Latest diner reviews

* Suggestions based on your history

As you’ll see, we’ve introduced the concept of tabs to put even more helpful lists in front of you — without all the clutter. Tabs include ‘Best Restaurants’ (culled from our Diners’ Choice lists), which you’ll see as our first tab on Sundays and Mondays, ’1,000-Point Tables,’ and ‘New Restaurants.’

To further enhance your search experience, we’ve added the ability for you to find available restaurants by an address or zip code or to refine your search to include more than one neighborhood.

This new look and enhanced functionality is the result of your feedback. We tested several prototypes with our network of diners through surveys and live on the web. As we continue to improve, your collaborative feedback is crucial. Look to hear from us as we launch more new features! And, if you have a comment or suggestion about these new  changes, please share them here. Or, better yet, take this quick survey.
